Selby Town Council's Grant to Selby Civic Society

Posted on 2 June 2016 by David Moss

Selby Civic Society applied for, and has now received, a grant of £2100 towards its running costs in 2016.

A substantial part of this will enable the Society to produce and print a 4th Edition of "Swanning Around Selby", its popular guide to the heritage and history of Selby. Around 11,000 copies of the guide have already been distributed free-of-charge since its launch in September 2014.

The new version is expected to be made available to the public in the Autumn of 2016. Copies of the current edition of the guide are available from a number of businesses in Selby, Selby Abbey, Selby Library, Selby station and the office of the local Selby Post newspaper.

The Society is grateful to Selby Town Council for its generous financial support.
