Selby Civic Society will unveil a Blue Plaque to commemorate David Foster who in 1890 devised and patented equipment for various games, one of which later became known as Table Tennis.

Blue Plaque Unveiling on Weds 15th July

Selby Civic Society will be unveiling a Blue Plaque at 48 Micklegate, Selby at 2.00pm on Weds 15th July 2015,  the 125th anniversary of the granting of a patent to David Foster, a Selebian who in 1890 devised and patented equipment for a variety of games, including that which later became known as Table Tennis.

Members of the Selby table tennis fraternity and a historian of the International Table Tennis Federation will join members of the Society for the ceremony.
